Mid-Autumn Festival


The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the traditional cultural festivals, popular among many ethnic groups in China and countries of the Chinese character culture circle. It is on the 15th day in August of the lunar calendar. It was named after its half-autumn.

The Mid-Autumn Festival began in the early years of the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became one of the traditional Chinese cultural festivals that as famous as the Spring Festival. Affected by Chinese culture, the Mid-Autumn Festival is also a traditional festival in East Asia and Southeast Asia, especially for overseas Chinese.
